The conducting course consists of four sessions. Three sessions are devoted to topics such as general techniques, preparation of the course repertoire and specific issues. While in the fourth session, participants will have the opportunity to work with an experienced a capella choir during their rehearsal evening. Chamber choir Carmen Vocale granted its support for this course. Audio-visual media will be used during the course.

This course is suited for conductors with conducting experience.

  • Rehearsal techniques (efficiency, retaining attention, etc.)
  • Communication and body language
  • Gesticulation (the effect of artistic directions to the ensemble)
  • Conducting techniques
  • Repertoire preparation (how do I prepare a score?)

Details

  • Course location: Zoetermeer
  • Rehearsal location: CKC - Zoetermeer
  • Maximum number of participants: 6
  • Dates and times of lessons: Saturday 27-11, 4-12 and 11-12-2010, from 11:00 to 14:00 h.
  • Date and times of choir rehearsal: Thursday 16 December 2010, from 20:00 to 22:00 h.
  • Repertoire: A capella works from the Passiontide.
    Anerio, Bruckner, da Vittoria and others. More details will follow.
  • Registration fee: € 200; Sheet music is not included in the fee.
    Students enrolled with a conservatory: € 125,-.
  • Preparation of the course repertoire is expected of each of the participants.
  • The course constitutes a whole and can only be participated in as such.
