In conducting, having a solid technique is of great importance. Indications are clear and will be followed up better and more quickly. Rehearsals are more effective and rehearsal time is used more efficiently. A good basis is the foundation for a solid technique for any conductor, vocal or instrumental.

During th elementary conducting course, these basic techniques are intensively explained, rehearsed and practiced. Because of the small group size (maximum 6 participants), there is ample room for personal attention, feedback and questions. Video recordings can be used for additional feedback.

A lab session (fourth session) with a vocal or instrumental ensemble is an integral part of the elementary conducting course. This session will be recorded on video and evaluated during the next session. Course participants receive a dvd copy.

Because of the fact participants in this course work with general conducting techniques, the course is suitable for participants who (want to) work with both vocal vocal or instrumental ensembles.

Some knowledge of music theory will be required to participate in this course (music notation, keys, time signature). Participants will receive a certificate of participation upon completing the course.

Don't hesitate to contact us in cause of doubt whether the elementary conducting course or the elementary-extended course (March/April 2012) would be more suitable for you.
