Conducting course: 'Recitative's and Bas Aria's - Elijah' - with orchestra and solist

This course is particularly intended for participants who have several years of conducting experience, but lack the actual working experience conducting a symphony orchestra with vocal soloist. This course is also suited to the more advanced conductor who has worked with symphony orchestras before and wishes to expand his or her conducting capabilities, and conservatory students in choral or orchestral conducting.

During the course, participants will have the opportunity to work with an experienced symphony orchestra and soloist in one of the four sessions. Both the Rijnlands Symfonie Orkest and baritone (...) made themselves available to our participants. The remaining three sessions will be used for general conducting techniques, preparation of the course repertoire and specific issues. Audio-visual media are used during the course.

• Registration fee: € 300; Sheet music is not included in the price.
  Students enrolled with a conservatory: € 175,-.

• Location of orchestra rehearsal: CKC-Zoetermeer
• Maximum number of participants: 6
• Dates and times of lessons: Saturday 6, 13 and 20 November 2010, from 11:00 to 14:00 h.
• Date and times of orchestra rehearsal: Thursday 23 November 2010, from 20:00 to 22:30 h.
• The program consists of aria's for Bass and recitatives from Mendelssohn’s Elias.
• Orchestra and solist will be available to the course participants at the evening rehearsal.
• Preparation of the course repertoire is expected of each of the participants.
• The course constitutes a whole and can only be participated in as such.
