Conducting course with orchestra

Following the successful orchestral conducting courses in recent seasons, a new conducting course with orchestra will take place in December (2011). Again, the Leiderdorps Kamerorkest will cooperate in this course.

This course is primarily intended for conductors with several years of conducting experience who have little experience in working with a symphony orchestra, or conductors who wish to expand their existing experience in conducting a symphony orchestra. The course is also suitable for conservatory students who study conducting.

During the course, participants will have the opportunity to work with an experienced symphony orchestra during one of the four sessions. The Leiderdorps Kamerorkest will be available to the participants for this purpose. The remaining sessions will be used for general conducting techniques, preparation of the course repertoire, specific issues and evaluation of the video recordings, made during the orchestra rehearsal. Participants will receive a dvd with a copy of the video recordings made during the orchestra rehearsal after the course.

After completing the course, participants receive a certificate of participation.

General information

• Dates and times of the course lessons: Saturdays 3, 10 and 17 December 2011 from 11:00 to 14:00 h.
• Date of the orchestra rehearsal: Tuesday evening 13 December 2011.
• Registration fee: € 300,-. Sheet music is not included in the price.
  Students enrolled with a Dutch conservatory: € 200,-.
  Participants who followed a conducting course at 'Kleine steentjes muziek' in 2011, receive a € 25,- discount.

• Maximum number of participants: 6
• Repertoire: Bruckner, Symphony '00' (Symph. in F-minor -WAB 99- Ed.1863, Ed. Leopold Novak 1973).

• Preparation of the course repertoire is expected of each of the participants.
• Registration for the orchestra rehearsal only is not possible.
