Conducting course with orchestra

This course is particularly intended for participants who have several years of conducting experience, but lack the actual working experience conducting a symphony orchestra. This course is also suited for the more advanced conductor who has worked with symphony orchestras before and wishes to expand his or her conducting capabilities. The course is also intended for conservatory students in one of the conducting majors.

During the course, participants will have the opportunity to work with an experienced symphony orchestra in one of the four sessions. The Leiderdorps Kamerorkest will be available to the participants for this purpose. The remaining sessions will be used for general conducting techniques, preparation of the course repertoire, specific issues and evaluation of the video recordings, made during the orchestra rehearsal.

• Registration fee: € 250,-; Sheet music is not included in the price. 
  Students enrolled with a conservatory: € 150,-.

• Location of orchestra rehearsal: Leiderdorp
• Maximum number of participants: 6
• Dates and times of lessons: Saturdays 22 and 29 January 5 February 2011, from 11:00 to 14:00 h.
• Date and times of orchestra rehearsal: Tuesday evening 1 February 2011, from 20:00 to 22:30 h.
• Brahms - Haydn Variations.
• The Leiderdorps Kamerorkest will be available to the course participants at the evening rehearsal.
• Preparation of the course repertoire is expected of each of the participants.
• The course constitutes a whole and can only be participated in as such.
