Music teachers are increasingly faced with situations in which they have to lead ensembles during lessons and performances. Most teachers are apprehensive about this as they lack the experience or training in conducting.
In some instances, the music teacher only needs a few directions in a specific area of conducting. In other situations, the music teacher or music school prefers individual coaching. With a few individual sessions substantial headway can be achieved. If desired, it is possible to come and observe the music teacher when he/she is leading his/her own ensemble. In this way, a higher success rate for the sessions will be achieved.
The management of a school of music can offer these sessions as extra training for its teaching staff. The lessons are usually conducted in sets of five. Course Instructor Michel Havenith is experienced in coaching music teachers and the sessions are adapted to the day-to-day practice of the music teacher in question.
